In line with an ambitious strategic vision to enhance preparedness and resilience, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi has firmly established its position as the first emirate in the UAE to implement the National Standard for Business Continuity, Version 3, in a comprehensive and systematic manner, led by the Centre to ensure institutional readiness and the sustainability of vital services.

This approach has enabled full coverage across all government entities and government-related companies, with a phased expansion to include a significant portion of the private sector, reflecting the maturity of the model and a shift from compliance to sustainability.

Implementation is driven through an integrated framework that begins with awareness and training workshops and extends to governance, capacity building, audits, exercises, and integration with enterprise risk management and emergency management.

In parallel, the Centre has led a pioneering initiative through the launch of the Abu Dhabi Standards for Business Continuity for vital activities, representing an unprecedented global model in terms of specialization and integration.

This achievement embodies the Emirate’s leadership in building a resilient institutional model, reinforcing that business continuity is not merely a requirement, but a deeply embedded culture and a sustainable approach that supports community safety and long-term development.
